The couch is a vessel holding depictions of dreams reliving childhood summer memories that could never be relieved, only reminisced upon.
“Cicadas chirp and summer is almost over,
so we ran away for the day
after saying “be back soon!”
Memories echo in our former footsteps
that led us in the overgrown pasture,
for the blades of grass
to slice through our longing,
of being a riddle
desperately wanting to be solved.
I let the warm night breeze kiss my face.
Sinking into the nearly perished couch,
pondering how i’m not the same person
as I was when summer started.”
